日本統治時代の 1909 年に「士林市場」として開設。元々は士林媽祖廟 (慈諴宮) 前の広場で物売りが店を広げていたのが起源。食に目が行きがちだが、地上での買い物や縁日っぽいゲーム (射的など) も楽しい。

Iconic night market of Taiwan. Flooded with both tourists and locals. Don’t know what to buy accept sportswear and cheap facial masks.

It’s super crowded and the Hotstar chicken is practically impossible to get (long lines). Just get it from one of their other branches! Also, this is just me, but stinky tofu is a real buzzkill.

One of the best night markets I’ve been to! Stuff your face with street food and make sure to buy tropical fruits from the stands

台北最大の夜市。エリアも広く、また地下街も充実しているので台北観光にはお勧めのスポット。リピーターにとっては問題ないのかもしれませんが、初心者にとってはお手洗いの場所が少なくまた分り難いと感じました。3月という季節がらか、夜市独特の臭いはほとんど気になりません。

Not impressed with this Night Market, too crowded and too much targeted at tourists. Raohe and Ningxia are better. Make sure you leave the MRT at Jiantan Station (= closer), not Shilin Station.
